When it comes to a potential presidential run, the USA TODAY poll displays both Palin's strength in the Republican base and her weakness among the swing voters who usually decide national elections. Republicans by 71%-27% say they would be likely to vote for her if she ran for president in 2012, while independents by 51%-44% would not.

So I'm thinking we'll be moving to Canada in 2012 then right?
They say that now, but so far she's the only one running. I don't think she would survive a primary. Literally survive, not as in lose. At the very least she would have to be hospitalized for "exhaustion" aka gone bonkers. Girlfriend got flustered by Katie Couric for crying out loud.
Yeah, I just can't see her being successful on her own in a primary either.
The problem is that I don't know who would beat her with her "base" (the extremely conservative right wing of the Republican party) right now.
Mitt Romney can't, he's a Mormon.
Newt Gingrinch can't, he's a twice (?) divorced cheater.
Bobby Jindal maybe, but he needs to get rid of that "Kenneth the Page" thing he's got going on after the rebuttal to the State of the Union speech.
Haley Barbour maybe, but I'd imagine he's probably got a LOT of old skeletons in his closet that just haven't made it to the light of day yet.
I've got no idea who the Republicans possibly put out there. Good thing 3.5 years is a long time from now!
